Renting as a Foreign National

Foreign residents here tend to be at the higher end of the market and lean towards families with school-age children who want UWC or BISP within a ten minute drive but prefer not to live on top of Boat Avenue. The beach itself is short, shaded by casuarina trees, and has a fishing community at the canal mouth that keeps the atmosphere local rather than resort-styled. There are no large nightclubs and only a few restaurants directly on the sand, with the Beach House at Anantara as the main beachfront option. For daily errands most Layan residents drive south to Cherngtalay and Boat Avenue, which puts groceries, clinics, cafes and the Friday night market within four kilometres. Healthcare follows the same pattern as Bang Tao, with Bangkok Hospital Phuket the main private facility in town. Layan suits buyers who want green surroundings, larger plots, beach access without crowds, and the lifestyle of the Cherngtalay corridor with one extra layer of quiet.
